Access at PSEA

Emily Hayes, Director of Educator Access, just got back from her trip to Gettysburg, PA for the PSEA (Pennsylvania State Education Association) Conference. During her visit, she was able to talk to educators about some new and exciting things coming their way. We asked her to do a quick recap.

I was excited to see a great turnout of 1,200 attendees and was even more excited to interact with them. I spent a lot of time talking with members about all of the exclusively negotiated merchant deals Access offers.

The real buzz of the conference was our My Deals Mobile app. Members seemed to be really positive and eager to learn about and use this app. The app is a discount program offered through your mobile device, giving you access to savings at over 75,000 locations in restaurants, hotels, retail stores, and auto shops. We provide Pennsylvania and many other states with great discounts statewide and nationwide. (For more info on the Access Mobile Discount Network, check out a previous post here).

I talked people through the download process and helped a lot of them register. It was also fun to share mobile app demonstrations with the many that were interested. Showing a discount coupon right on your phone at the point-of-sale makes for easy functionality while features like the savings tracker and alerts make the app innovative and fun.

I also gave out prizes for some members who were the first to come by our table and show me their registered mobile app. Two of our winners, Katie K. and Missy B. used their app at Rita’s in Gettysburg for a free gelato.

I'm excited to hear about all the savings our educators will earn in the future with the My Deals Mobile app! Are you a PSEA member? What are your thoughts on the mobile app and what cool things have you used it for?
