What's Trending at Access: Summer Report

With 20 million members and hundreds of thousands of merchant partners, Access is privy to fascinating data regarding what people are saving on (note: member identities are kept anonymous in Access' analytic systems.) We use this data to improve our merchant network and secure more and more deals that people want.

On occasion, we see interesting jumps in redemption that match larger trends. We take pride in the fact that, while the rest of the world rushed out to grab the hot new mobile phone this summer, and so did Access members... ours saved a ton of money on their purchases!

We asked Ashley to peek into the data from this past summer and let us know what was popular and interesting.

The temperature is getting cooler, so why not talk about summer and stay warm? It’s time to take a look at all the hot savings trends that went on over the summer season.

By utilizing analytics tools, we're able to see which Access merchants were most popular during June, July, and August. With Access marketing efforts helping promote merchants to go along with the merchants' own efforts, we can see what was driving members to save. Curious as to what discounts were big hits during summer? Let’s find out!

There was a noticeable increase in redemptions at Office Depot. This was due in part to Teachers Appreciation weeks. These weeks were scheduled throughout July and August around the United States. During this special event, Educator Access Teachers received a 20% discount as well as a complimentary tote bag filled with Office Depot school supplies.

July and August are also Back to School months, so you can bet parents and kids were out getting supplies for the upcoming school year.

Verizon Wireless also had Access members rushing in to save while the sun was still shining. Access email marketing efforts were a big success in encouraging members to take advantage of some generous Verizon discounts. It seems summer is a good time for new phones, updated plans, accessories and more.

What goes with swimming better than pizza? Our members just couldn’t get enough of Domino’s, making it one of our most steadily popular merchants. Hey, when you don’t feel like cooking, there’s nothing easier than ordering a pizza just how you like it and having it delivered to your door step. Summer life is good.
