Access Gives Back in 2014

Access is unlike any other place I've ever worked - including startups, massive corporations, agencies, an NBA franchise, among others. I've never seen a place with the unique culture and cohesion that Access has. Maybe it's the hiring process that's as much about learning attitudes as capability, or so many employees hanging around in spandex after biking to work during the summer, but there's a definite comfort level among the ranks here.

One thing is clear though: once the organization sets a goal, we go ALL IN. This competitive drive pays off in our efforts to serve our clients and their customers. It also pays off in our dedication to serving our community and those in need.

Like the last several years, Access staged a food drive that spanned the two weeks following Halloween. Employees were divided into a dozen teams (loosely based on department) and tasked with coming up with as much food as possible, to be donated to the Utah Food Bank.

The team that donated the least has to load all of the donation's into the truck. The winning team receives the elusive Golden Gobbler trophy:

We're proud to announce that Access employees donated over 7,300 pounds of food, an average of over 52 pounds per employee! Best of all, Access leadership agreed to match the winning team's donation, dollar-for-pound, resulting in another $2,000+ to help feed Utah's hungry.

For the second year in a row, that winning team is corporate marketing. We (yes, that's my team) are taking home the Golden Gobbler after donating over 2100 pounds.

Access employees have also stepped up once again to "Sub for Santa," except this time the program we're partnering with HeritageWest Credit Union is "Warm the Soles." Access employees are donating shoes to children throughout Utah who need them.

Finally, continuing from last year, Access is donating a portion of each Restaurant.com certificate we sell to Feeding America.

In total, that's over $10,000 in cash donations, 7,000+ pounds of food, and dozens of pairs of shoes for those in need.

Access Gives Back

All told, it's been an amazing year at Access, and we love being able to turn around and share some of our good fortune with those in need. We're looking forward to going ALL IN on work, play and giving back again next year!

May you and yours enjoy a warm, happy, healthy holiday season!
